As it breaks down now, we have it made it very cheap for players to purchase up to 10-strength door and 10-difficulty locks at only $2.50 each per level: to get to 10/10 it costs a max of $50.00. (Which is still a lot stronger than many of the doors and locks in the Realm presently, especially with the recent code changes).
Pricing for the increases for locks and for door strength are being added to the Marketplace very soon. Each level of security increase must be purchased to access the next and - to be frank - at the top end, these prices are not for the faint of heart or wallet. To Increase further than 10/10, it will cost you - dearly... not quite your soul, but you will get the idea:
-> 11 would be an additional $50.00 each for Door Strength and Lock Difficulty = $100 total
-> 12 would be an additional $75.00 each for Door Strength and Lock Difficulty = $150 total
-> 13 would be an additional $150.00 each for Door Strength and Lock Difficulty = $300 total
-> 14 would be an additional $250.00 each for Door Strength and Lock Difficulty = $500 total
So if a player STARTED with a Base Home with 0/0 doors and locks, it would cost them $1,100.00 to get to the Top Tier Security of 14/14. A player starting with a 12/12 build would be looking at an additional $800.00 to get their room security to the Top Tier Security of 14/14.
(NOTE: If a player is unaware of their door or lock strength and wishes to improve it, they should first reach out to Support for guidance before purchasing.)
Some may ask "WHAT IN THE WORLD? WHY IS IT SO MUCH?"
The reason is that thievery is a very basic part of this game and always will be, so we are not going to make it impossible for races and professions that have this skill to be hand-cuffed very easily. Even at the top end, there is always that tiny chance that the person trying to break in will succeed (against all odds - it's like rolling 00 on a 100-sided dice - you probably won't succeed, but you never know!).
