PLAN TO STAY? HERE ARE THE RULES!
The Gods of the Majic Realm are fairly lax about who they allow to wander in their land. They realize that it takes many diverse types of people to make up a world, and even evil people have their place in the natural order of things.
There are however certain commandments that they insist that ALL travellers into the Majic Realm abide by:
1) THOU SHALT NOT PREY ON THE NOVICE. THOU SHALT HELP THEM TO THE BEST OF THINE ABILITY.
The Gods do not frown on a person who kills another in the game per-se, but they do frown upon those who go out of their way to kill NEW players. If a player who has not had a chance to learn the rules of the game is killed, tricked, or robbed, he or she will quickly get discouraged (rightfully so) and leave the realm, possibly never to return. By helping a novice player to get started and learn the ropes, you make it much more likely that he or she will enjoy the game and become a permanent denizen of the Realm. He or she is also more likely to recommend friends to the Realm. The benefits to you should be obvious: more people with which to interact means that the system will expand more quickly in terms of expansion and features.
2) THOU SHALT NOT REPEATEDLY HARASS THE SAME INDIVIDUAL.
While hassling someone else is a legitimate, and sometimes necessary course of action (especially for low level characters who have no other recourse against high level ones) there is a point at which enough is enough: high level players who repeatedly kill off the characters of low level players; players who keep generating "throwaway" characters for the sole purpose of bothering someone, or everyone; and the list goes on... People who do a little of this can be overlooked as "blowing off steam", or getting even for some past wrong. Those who keep it up day after day, especially at the same person will invariably draw the unfavorable notice of the Gods. Basically it drives people off the system, and doing this is short sighted and hurts everyone. Likewise sending screenfulls of telepathic messages by macro, or shouting by macro is considered bad form.
3) THOU SHALT NOT USE EXCESSIVE PROFANITY.
The Gods acknowledge that people do swear. They do not impose restrictions as such, except to ask that people keep it to a minimum. Some people do take offence at profanity, and therefore we ask that you please scramble your words (eg: S@#! or F@#!) if possible. Sending profanity to people hundreds of times via macro telepaths is an example of excessive use of profanity AND harassment, and will result in your account being revoked.
4) THOU SHALT NOT CHOOSE STUPID NAMES.
When you name a new character, you may call them whatever you like, with a few notable exceptions. Deliberately choosing a name that is almost identical to someone elses for the purpose of misleading people as to your true identity, or to harass that individual is not allowed. Choosing a name that is obscene or offensive is not allowed. Choosing a name that mimics one of the monsters in the game is also not allowed.
5) THOU SHALT NOT BE A ZOMBIE.
In the real world, zombie apocalypses are portrayed for entertainment. In the Majic Realm, they are a reality. There are those who rely on the dark art called "technology" to automate aspects of their character. While the Gods may look the other way for very minor uses of this evil science, those who employ automation to fully or mostly control their characters have clearly been infected with the zombie virus and will have their characters terminated by headshot or decapitation and the corpse burned to prevent the spread.
The Majic Realm is a social game in which fair play is considered paramount. Zombification of characters hurts the social fabric of the game and gives an unfair advantage to the zombies. Furthermore, it creates an environment where others may feel they need to do likewise in order to compete, which only spreads the contagion. Be warned, operating one or more characters as zombies is not permitted ever, under any circumstances, and those found to be infected will be dealt with harshly.
6) THOU SHALT DUAL RESPONSIBLY.
More than one account is permitted within a family for various reasons. For other family members to play, for extra characters, or to permit someone to be in two places at once - like socializing in the tavern on one screen, while adventuring on another. Invalid uses include any zombification as noted above. Playing two characters where one (or both) are zombies is not permitted. If this behavior is observed, both characters will be decapitated and burned to ensure the virus doesn’t spread. To be extra clear, 1 person playing 2 characters where one of them is controlled by triggers is NOT OK. Using a second character as a storage account is also forbidden. Characters found to be doing this will have the possessions on the storage account seized by the crown and sold by auction to other players with 100% of the proceeds going to the Draconian war orphans fund. Any other activity using an extra account that provides a player with an unfair in-game advantage, is also disallowed.
7) THOU SHALT NOT BE A [REDACTED].
No matter how carefully and thoroughly rules of etiquette are crafted, there will always be those who find an oversight or loophole. This applies to them. Put simply, any activity that gives one Realmer an unfair (in the opinion of the admins) in-game advantage over others is not permitted. Players using an exploit, loophole, or abuse of a game feature to benefit themselves at the expense of others is not permitted. Players abusing legitimate game features in such a way as to harass, annoy or ruin the fun of others is not permitted. You may be a paying customer, but your entertainment is not more important than that of others and should not come at the expense of other paying customers. Play nice, or play elsewhere!
